Docker file content seems wrong

Hi Guys, in this code there is issue in storefront docker file ?
we have COPY chmod command which is wrong in running docker file

If you’re referring to this , then no that’s not a mistake. It’s not really COPY chmod it’s COPY —chmod. It’s used to change the UID and GID of the file as we are copying it to this layer on the image. See here

Yes but it cause issue when we run below command,
Command: docker build --build-arg version=2.0.1-beta -t mushop/storefront ~/mushop/src/storefront
Error: Error response from daemon: Dockerfile parse error line 55: Unknown flag: chmod

The Dockerfile is not wrong. @brijsaverna12 you are probably using an old version of Docker. I just tested locally and remote with supported version of Docker

I've tested an old/unsupported version of Docker. I was able to replicate your issue using the version 19.03.11 (runc:1.1.3, containerd:1.4.8).

There's a dirty workaround to build on old Docker, but will probably bring other problems with the old runc failing. Here the workaround:

1. include this line on the top of the Dockerfile:

   # syntax=docker/dockerfile:experimental
   

2. Build using the BuildKit by including DOCKER_BUILDKIT=1 before the docker build command.
   Here an example:

   DOCKER_BUILDKIT=1 docker build --build-arg version=2.x-beta -t mushop/storefront .

@brijsaverna12 - what version of docker are you using ?if it’s older, can you upgrade docker ?

I made changes at line 55 and 56 and will be like below
COPY nginx/15-storefront-extras.sh /docker-entrypoint.d/15-storefront-extras.sh
COPY /usr/src/app/build /usr/share/nginx/html

after this run below command
docker build --build-arg version=2.0.1-beta -t mushop/storefront ~/mushop/src/storefront

and now error is coming at step 17/27
