I would like to inquire regarding the legal ramifications of using these instances for some of my projects.

Specifically, I am working on an NLP solver and I would like to use your instances as a test suite. I guess that you want these instances to be available to fellow scholars at least. However, I have not seen any license information in this repository or its counter-part at bitbucket.

Other popular projects have used some form of Copyleft license in order to clarify these situations. Would you be willing and able to do something similar here?

Sorry for the slow reply. The repository now lives on Bitbucket and I just opened a PR to add the MIT license: https://bitbucket.org/optrove/sif/pull-requests/8.
