Interesting comment on reddit that git has no offical glossary which leads to extreme confusions https://www.reddit.com/r/git/comments/sz7y4k/comment/hyh7qmz/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button.

  • for example, "remote" has 4 different definitions that are incompatible.
  • we seem to be running into similar problems "what is a commit?". a commit has different meanings for different people. here is the commit definition for git.

What i take out of the comment:

  • we should create and maintain a glossary for lix to avoid a sitatuion like git has rn
  • one term -> one purpose to avoid confusions

Proposal

Create (and maintain) a glossary for lix to increase the comprehension of lix and avoid confusions.
