need to understand how these relate to relationships or roles in VIVO-ISF.
@ShahimEssaid lets discuss.

Melissa,
Here's an updated version of a VIVO-ISF ontology fragment diagram based on our discussions at last summer's VIVO conference. I've taken the CASRAI role labels as they currently exist and just pointed out how they would fit with the ISF with no changes to our structure.
I assume one person could legitimately have more than one Role instance in association with one Authorship of a particular paper. One question this diagram raises is whether the same Role instance could be associated with both a publication and a dataset -- seems inadvisable.

Thanks Jon, that is very helpful! And nice to see activity in our new repo already.

The goal here is to have a VIVO-ISF compliant module for review at the workshop in Dec. I agree that one can have more than one role in relationship to a manuscript, and that the role that is realized in relationship to a dataset is likely a different instance than the one relating to the manuscript. In a way, it is likely that there is an ongoing process where there is the role realized in the creation (or other role) with respect to the dataset, but then there is the contextualization or analysis of that data in the context of the manuscript.

We thought it was a better plan to have this in a separate repo so that others could contribute more readily, but would plan to leverage within the main VIVO-ISF repo as a git submodule. If nothing else a place for us to just play around with some ideas.
