Map does not stay centered on user when zooming with positioning information displayed on screen

By default, when the map is set to follow the user’s current location, zooming using the + and - buttons keeps the map centered on the user:

However, when positioning information is shown on the screen, the map canvas appears to be centered on the middle of the screen rather than on the user’s location:
