CSV Conf: data conference I think would be of interest to everyone here #10
Comments
Great idea @simonv3 ! Crop data is definitely a challenge, as we're seeing. It might be challenging for me to make a trip across the Atlantic for it (and Drupalcon is the following week in New Orleans) - but I'd be happy to help think about a presentation if @andru or anyone else wants to do it. On a related note, I host a monthly farmOS development call, and I thought it might be nice to talk about these crop data ideas in the next one. It would give us all a chance to meet and talk at the same time, which is always helpful. If you're interested in joining, let's settle on a good time! I started a new issue here: #11 |
(Just FYI, there's money available for getting people to the conference, (though obviously not infinite). To spice up the deal http://opentechsummit.net/ is also happening that same week.) |
Whoops, been meaning to respond to this one. Sounds like a good idea. On Sun, Feb 14, 2016 at 7:35 PM Simon [email protected] wrote:

@simonv3 Ah deadline! I would really love to come present, but after giving it some thought I don't think it will be possible for me. I'll be heading to Drupalcon the week after, and with everything else going on it's just too much travel. Do you think you'll present on the topic? It would be great to see it happen! Are the talks recorded? |
I'm honestly not sure whether I will yet. I have pretty bad stage-fright, and would also feel a bit disingenuous since I'm helping select the talks :P. I think it's an interesting topic though, and definitely fitting. |
Hey all,
I'm helping organize CSVConf in Berlin this year and I thought this whole conversation would be wonderfully suited to a panel there. I thought that maybe @andru or @mstenta would consider giving a talk (or anyone who is interested).
The conference isn't just about CSV, but all sorts of data, and how to spread and distribute that data. I think crop data highlights some wonderful problems with data, especially what you all have been talking about.
Have a look at last year's talks.
Let me know if you have any questions or know of anyone who might be interested. I'll probably post something similar to the food dashboard convo.
