What

  • Create central and official uniqueness guidelines for all games.
  • These guidelines define unique features of the games
  • Simple, just some keywords and as a infographic like create style guidelines for all games #29
  • (optional: list things all games share)

Why

  • One singing game cannot fullfill every needs of players/developers
  • Distribute the feature pressure (and workload) on more than one game project
  • Make sure that a single game is not overloaded with features/configs and becomes unmaintainable
  • Ensure that the games complement each other rather than replacing 🙂 🤝
  • Provide players a harmonized variety of games (with a shared content base) 🚀
  • Avoid unique features are coded twice ⚙ ✅
  • Ensure that different technologies are used for making games,
    • so that potentially more developers can find their fitting projects to work on
    • and to avoid becoming depending on only one platform.

Teams/Skills needed

Leads, Long term strategy
Arjan (Performous), Florian (Vocaluxe), Andreas (USP/MM)

Out of scope

  • other dancing games like stepmania (are out of discussion for this year to reduce complexity)

Hey @open-music-games/leads , 🙂
if you got some time in the next months, it would be cool if we collab on a "uniqueness guide".
I prepared a google slide for us as a start.
Feel free to add and discuss. This is open for any ideas:

If we all agreed on it, I would make it public on the website. It's a living document.
