🐞 [BUG] Pick a photo - No media

Describe the bug
When you try to attach a photo, it says no media

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Click plus button
2. Click Attach Photo
3. See Albums page that simply says "No media"

Expected behavior
See media and be able to select picture

Smartphone (please complete the following information):

• Device: moto g(7) power
• OS: Lineageos 22.1.20250105-NIGHTLY-ocean
• App Version 4.0.7

I like this app, thanks for developing it! Built in MMS app keeps erroring "message not sent," but QUIK works!

This bug started occurring recently for me also.

Up until about a week ago, I was able to attach pictures without issue from Quik; sharing from the Gallery to Quik seems to still work. It seems to have started occurring around when I received my monthly security update. Seeing as how its occurring in the previous stable build and also the current beta, it has to be something specific to the most recent security update.

@helpdeskdan @compost-em-all this issue might have something to do with scoped storage - https://source.android.com/docs/core/storage/scoped and https://developer.android.com/about/versions/11/privacy/storage - disabling might rectify ??

it's buried in the settings. on grapheneos - maybe diff on lineage and calyx - its at; settings -> apps -> quik -> permissions -> photos and videos -> storage scopes -> { turn off 'enable storage scopes' }

Thanks for that. That didn't directly solve it for me but it did lead me to the root cause and allowed me to fix it :) In my case, I don't appear to have a specific setting that I could find called Scoped Storage or Storage Scopes. However, I do have the option when installing an app that requests access to Photos and Videos to give it Limited Access or access to everything. So, when I try and attach a picture in Quik, it opens my Gallery (in this case, the default Gallery app that comes with CalyxOS). I went to the settings and denied the Photos and Videos permission for the Gallery to see what would happen when I try and attach a picture. The Gallery app opened and asked if I wanted to grant Limited Access or full access to my Photos and Videos; either option presented me with the No Media message mentioned in this bug. However, I then installed Fossify Gallery to see if it was app-specific and gave it full access. Now, when I try and attach a photo, I can choose to use Fossify Gallery as the media picker and that works successfully. So I guess I was mistaken and it appears more to me now that perhaps the problem lies with the CalyxOS Gallery app. @helpdeskdan, can you try installing Fossify Gallery or a different gallery app and see if that resolves the issue for you?

@compost-em-all @helpdeskdan CalyxOS, and I assume LineageOS, recently released an update that fixes the "No Media" when selecting externally. (6.4.2) This fixed the issue for me. Did it work for you?
