Set Maximum does'nt work

OK on set minimum works
But no reaction on OK on set maximum!

I have the same problem but I have nothing but A mount lenses with screw drive focus connected with an LA-EA4. The bar along the bottom of the screen looks like it should change and show a focus range as I'm setting up for minimum, but it's completely empty - so I think it's not letting me set maximum because it doesn't realize it has changed at all.

I'm not sure if the focal length is reported back to the camera at all with these old 5 pin Minolta lenses, so there may be nothing I can do, but I'm trying to figure out where to start poking around to see if there is.
