I am not able to reproduce this using Firefox 57 with NVDA master-14625,b6c4d81f on Windows 10.
If this is still the case with NVDA 2017.3/2017.4RC1 on Firefox 57 on Windows 7, then it may be recommended to use Firefox ESR 52 as suggested in #7790 (comment).
You can download Firefox ESR here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/

If I do not have permission to install ESR version, do we have any other alternate solution or workaround on this? do you know when the Firefox next version will be released with this fix? Thanks in advance.

I've seen other reports of this also, but only on Windows 7. I haven't yet been able to confirm it myself, though.

Nope, there's a report of this in Windows 10 also: #7778.

@manijais85, @Brian1Gaff, could you please try the following instructions if you're able (adapted from #2807 (comment)):

  1. Please apply this registry patch (remove the .txt extension).
  2. If you're using 64 bit Windows, please also apply this second registry patch (remove the .txt extension).
  3. Open a command prompt as administrator: Start menu, type cmd.exe into the search box, press control+shift+enter and accept the UAC prompt.
  4. Enter the following commands:
    c:\windows\system32\regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\oleaut32.dll
    c:\windows\system32\regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\actxprxy.dll

  5. On a 64 bit system, also enter the following commands:
    c:\windows\syswow64\regsvr32 c:\windows\syswow64\oleaut32.dll
    c:\windows\syswow64\regsvr32 c:\windows\syswow64\actxprxy.dll

  6. Also enter the following command:
    c:\windows\system32\regsvr32 "c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\ieproxy.dll"

  7. On Windows 7 64 bit, also enter the following command:
    c:\windows\syswow64\regsvr32 "c:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\ieproxy.dll"

Does that resolve the problem?

@manijais85, is this still an issue for you?

Note that the system registry fixes above now get applied by NVDA when it is installed. You can also re-apply them by using NVDA menu -> Tools -> Run COM Registration Fixing tool.

Since we haven't had a reply from the reporter in several months and I haven't heard any further reports of this, I'm closing this as worksForMe. Please reopen if the problem persists.
