Abstract

Introducing any new technology or platform to a large organisation is not without it's challenges. We have all heard the success stories of how Paypal & Netflix have embraced node.js but what about organisations which traditionally have been slow to adopt new technologies. Organisations which in recent years have only just embraced & invested in digital.

This talk will focus on how News Corp Australia have successfully introduced node.js as a new development platform and the challenges faced, both technical & organisational.

This talk would be aimed at attendees who have heard great things about node.js, they may have even played around with it a little and are eager to use it day to day at work but they are unable to convince their business of it merits. I will provide an overview of why we adopted node.js, how it changed our development approaches and what value it provided to the business ( with live production examples )
