Controller Input stops after a while with Steam

So after using both Steam and DsHdmini for a certain period of time (ranging from a minute to 15), all controller inputs just stop responding and if this happens in the middle of an input it just repeats that input endlessly. Unplugging and replugging my controller fixes it...until this happens again.

If it helps, when my controller actually works, the LEDs either cycle through the player indicators or stop at the fourth one. When it stops, it usually stops at the second or third, maybe even the fourth one too.
