My custom lsp diagnostics function isn't refreshing properly

I got this function from the internet and it works, but it does not refresh on it's own, I have to enter insert mode, or cmd mode, or unfocus the neovim window or something like that.
Here it is:

I don't know if the problem lies here or in tabby.

I found better code that works.

        if n > 0 then
                table.insert(label, { icon .. ' ' .. n .. ' %##' })
        end
    end
    return label
end
