There are currently two kinds of tagging in the system - which kind would be beneficial to MyHPOM?

  • labels - a document can be labelled from the document list page (and can have multiple labels). This appears to be useful for the user alone, for organizational purposes.
  • keywords (aka subject) - when a document is edited, keywords can be associated with it. It isn't clear if the keywords used can be visible to other users (type completion or something like that). Keywords are not visible on the document list page, but are considered when one filters by arbitrary text.

Notes:

  • The 'subject' field in the 'my documents' search dropdown searches all documents that contain the contents of keywords/subjects. If we decide not to use that feature we should remove 'subject' from the dropdown.
