dovecot plugin not working with recent version of dovecot

I am running archlinux thus very recent versions of the various programs. I do not get any result from the dovecot_stats_ plugin (always only nan).

I investigated a bit and found that dovecot changed their stats pluigin: See the old stats and the new stats interface.

The problem is that doveadm stats dump domain results in

Error: Extraneous arguments found: domain

Since archlinux uses all logs in journald I cannot parse any /var/log/mail.* file to use the dovecot plugin.

I am unfamiliar with perl so I would avoid to make changes to the plugins myself but I highly suggest to insert a check which version of dovecot is in use and/or if the command can run successfully.

Honestly, I can no longer reproduce this issue. I tried but cannot run the plugin anymore using munin-run. Maybe I need to update the config. I cannot help here much anymore. So, unless I should do something special, I will let the stale bot close the issue eventually.
