web3py - uses HexBytes. Subclass of bytes: https://github.com/ethereum/hexbytes.
ethers - generally speaking, hash is a string
- https://docs.ethers.org/v6/api/providers/#Block-hash
- https://docs.ethers.org/v6/api/providers/#TransactionReceipt-hash
