Motivation

• Related to https://react-conf-2024-pigment-css.netlify.app/?presenterMode=true&slideIndex=29&stepIndex=0.
• This is precisely why @siddharthkp / GitHub in https://portal.gitnation.org/contents/moving-on-from-runtime-css-in-js-at-scale went the opposite direction, toward CSS Modules. It feels like Pigment CSS has a purpose if we move toward fixing this. So it feels binary: we find a solution or we give up on Pigment CSS. I'm hopeful that the React Compiler can pave the way for us to make this work.

Isn’t it a duplicate of Anber/wyw-in-js#69 ?

• since pigment-css uses wyw-in-js

and this issue is not exclusive to next.js, it’s applicable to vite and any other bundler in the future

I think it's nice to have both issues, there isn't necessary a direct correlation between the two.

It would be nice to have that. Today with mui v5 we can use vite with swc instead of babel but that is not possible with mui v6 if we want to try pigment-css
