Oh right. Makes sense. Thanks for your swift response, goadrian. Followup: If I want to use tonal shades to create varying surface elevation levels (for light mode), I would have to create a separate color group in Figma, right? If so, any idea how this would be implemented in code?
@raymonda personally I would change the existing ones without creating custom variables, I'm not seeing any issues with that if you intend to keep the consistency. Code wise I'm not very familiar with the API but I'm guessing you can target individual levels and overwrite them.
