Not sure why but it doesn't seem to work at all on the Windows 8 release preview.

After saving changes (e..g. empty Recycle Bin weekly) and restarting the application, the changes aren't present.

Adding a folder via drag & drop and the browse dialog does nothing. Once the directory is selected / dropped, the confirmation dialog is shown, then nothing.

I can get it to sort of work under Windows 8 but each rule can only follow one condition.

Right click the Belveder.exe and go to properties, then Compatability, and change the Compatibility Mode to Windows 7. I also made it run as administrator for good measure.

I was going to post about how it still wasn't working for me, but it randomly started working? Although when editing rules I have to hit ok and then re-edit the rule before the Test actually works. And this is just with run as administrator on, when I put it in compatibility mode it doesn't work.

I had a similar issue on Windows 7. The problem is that the configuration file is in c:\program files (x86)\belvedere\rules.ini. There are 2 possible solutions. 1. Run as Administrator (as was previously described). 2. Set permissions on the rules.ini file such that the user that runs Belvedere has write permissions.
