<mdl-layout mdl-layout-mode="scroll"> not working on tablet/phone

I tried to implement auto hide when user scrolls up by using

<mdl-layout mdl-layout-mode="scroll">

It works pretty well on desktop, but not on tablet/phone. Any help?

confirmed. this is an open issue in mdl: google/material-design-lite#4180. In this issue is also a way to fix this. it seems that this will not be fixed in version 1.x of mdl so we need to wait for version 2.
