No License? #202

CoSeMe, which is the underlying protocol to connect to WA, is Mozilla Public License, version 2.0. |
TERMS.txt actually states: All the code is Licensed under the Apache
License, Version 2.0 (the "License");

@willyaranda I would be ok with pretty much every license including GPL, MIT, MPL, Apache...! :) btw sorry for not helping anymore, but my phone broke some time ago and the motivation for working on something you don't use tends to get really low.. ;) |
@cmeerw that's good to know :) I'm not an expert about licenses and I don't want to study them. Should we keep Apache and also change CoSeMe? @duesenfranz don't worry, in fact, with the future of Firefox OS, I don't know what to do with this |
Thank you all for your quick responses! I'll read the license to make sure I don't cross any boundaries then. @willyaranda I'd like to recommend Ubuntu Touch, as it's the biggest alternative to Android/iOS now, and it's also open source. They've been without a WhatsApp client this whole time, and many people would greatly appreciate one, myself included. |
You are free to port this to Ubuntu Touch. I don't know if it should be another repository, or we can use this. |
i would suggest to use this repository if possible. @willyaranda no matter what happening with firefoxos (community or end of life) we still need to serve the users who are using it, don't let them down and fix the issues reported so they still can use it. |
Hello, I would like to port OpenWapp to the Ubuntu touch OS because they still have nothing for WhatsApp users, but I noticed that you have no license listed here in the repository. Under which license is OpenWapp released?
