Can’t be enabled on Firefox for Android #33
Comments
Hi @da2x, thanks for the report! Unfortunately, About Sync won't work in Firefox for Android at all, since it has a completely different sync implementation in Java. |
OK, maybe you could block the extension from being installed on mobile? I think there is an option you can flip in the extension catalog. (Sync doesn’t work on Android 8. Thought this extension could tell me more about the problem.) Thank you for your time! |
Of course! I think @mhammond is the expert there. 😄 Sync not working on Android 8 might be bug 1365865, which was fixed in Nightly 56 and Beta 55 last week. Are you able to sync if you install Nightly or Beta? |
Thanks, @kitcambridge. Sync works in beta. That doesn’t help much when all my data is locked up in stable and I can’t move data between release channels on Android. Oh well. It will start working again eventually. |
I marked the addon as only compatible with Desktop, but it's not clear looking at the listing that it is so marked, nor where I would actually mark it now - IIRC, I get asked each time I upload a new version, so I'll double-check that next time I do - but it seems possible it is a bug with AMO that it is being offered at all? |
The extension is still listen om mobile, by the by. |
@mhammond, I searched on MDN for you with the hope of listing the addon only for its compatible platforms. Listing on AMO shows each numbered step of the process. Hopefully this will prevent bad installations and bad reviews for you! Doug |
Ah, thanks - I think I've made the necessary change in the listing. |
Installs from the Add-ons Catalog, but the Enable button is disabled in the Add-on manager. (Never seen that before.)
