Same problem for me. I am not sure if I should use my email as username or appname I inputed during password generation on facebook. I have tried both, none of them work giving the same error you described. |
Was this ever solved? |
I contacted the Spotify support team to migrate to a non-facebook-login account. Unfortunately this seems to be the only way to get many Spotify integrations working. |
Hey Spotify has a solution for it, just go to this link "https://www.spotify.com/us/account/set-device-password/" copy the username you see and click on the button to setup a password for it. These will be you login credentials. |
Hi all, I have the same problem as described above. Unfortunately it does not work to set the device password through spotify, because I don't have access to the registered Email Adress anymore and there seems to be no way of changing the email address. Thanks for your help |
Have a go at the things discussed at:

What I did:
mopidy
andmopidy-spotify
from the deb repository via apt (last version);~/.config/mopidy/mopidy.conf
under[spotify]
;I'm on Ubuntu 18.04.
What I noticed:
Maybe I'm missing something obvious...
