You don't really need mopidyctl on macOS, as Mopidy never runs as a proper system service. When using brew services start mopidy, Mopidy runs as a background process using your own user, and thus uses the regular config in ~/.config/mopidy/mopidy.conf, not /etc/mopidy/mopidy.conf.
After installing mopidy with this formula I don't have a
mopidyctl
