Video Playback Issue with SMPlayer

When streaming the desktop using Moonlight, SMPlayer exhibits the following behavior:

• Video playback freezes while audio continues to play.
• The video on the original screen plays normally.
• The video unfreezes temporarily when the mouse is moved and the SMPlayer GUI controls appear.

This issue does not occur with VLC.

Additional context
This did not use to happen at all, I've started observing this issue around August this year. After reboot it works OK after reboot. But second connection causes the issue to start happening.
