k8s - buildkitd scalability

I'm a bit confused by this scale command in the k8s example folder

kubectl apply -f deployment+service.rootless.yaml
kubectl scale --replicas=10 deployment/buildkitd

What's a good way to determine how many replicas I should have in the cluster?
Any tips on how much resources I should allocate for the buildkitd deployment?

You may want to try job.*.yaml so that you do not need to care about the number of the replicas

Sacrifices the cache efficiency and the pod start up time though.
