I recently downloaded the dataset and subsequently discovered that my system was infected with a virus. According to the investigation conducted by my company’s information security team, it was concluded that the infection occurred through a peer-to-peer (P2P) connection initiated during the dataset download process.
Notably, the investigation identified the following source as a potential origin of the attack:
cooltours.s3.sa-east-1.amazonaws.com
There was no prior warning or notice about potential risks associated with P2P connections when downloading the dataset. The lack of such warnings makes users vulnerable to significant security threats.

I agree with Rom, it's not clear to me how a P2P connection appeared while downloading the DataComp dataset. Do you have more details to share on this? If not, can we close the issue?
