If you go to settings, then select the shortcuts tab. You will see there are predefined shortcuts that conflict with Common Linux shortcuts. You can manually clear these out and nano should work again. It would be great if all these predefined key combos could just go away. Ctrl + U drives me crazy as it conflicts with a Bash shortcut for cutting the line of text you just entered.

It is impossible to use ctrl keys in nano...
