Allow app to automatically check for updates

Auto-updating is convenient, but I'm not sure if I want to give Scoot permission to access the network.

The other way to handle this would be to distribute via the Mac App Store, but that's not possible (for this app) given Apple's policies.

Not exactly an auto-update checker, but have you also considered adding scoot to Homebrew? This can work as an auto-update for those who use Homebrew to manage their software. I personally do and would be glad to have this available as a brew package.
