Have you guys considered making an unhangout npm package for the basic scheduling and link farming features of this app?

Because that would be awesome!

This would be super cool, but I'm not sure what it would take to get it to be usable in some other app. Plus I'm not totally sure what other applications there would be for it beyond the permalink functionality we've got. Do you have something specific in mind?

Hey @drewww, I think there is a lot of possibility for the permalink functionality as well as the in-hangout app interface.

Study groups, online tutoring, virtual office hours, and other activities might benefit from a persistent hangout link. I can also imagine specific in-hangout features for each of these scenarios. A vanilla implementation of unhangout that others could customize could be quite popular for anyone developing Google Hangout applications.

Other options include...

gaming: http://help.roll20.net/misc-playing-in-google-plus/

coding: http://Floobits.com

And any other online group collaboration activity.

Mmmm, good point. Okay, might be worth a weekend hack session on this sometime. The other piece of it that might be valuable is some automated way of farming hangout urls. That’s still a sort of heinous and time consuming process and if it were abstracted nicely that would be a service too.

Lets chat about this on thursday!
