Restarts unexpectedly when writing to 0x40 #1

Firmware revision 0x07, module in normal mode.

When writing "1" to register 0x40 on address 0x1E (to trigger UUID readout) the module restarts into bootloader mode.
Valid I2C transactions confirmed with logic analyzer.

Possible reason: Requires multi-master I2C?
