Question: do you know why this is not the default behavior in Atom?

IMO this should be enabled by default in Atom, do you know if there is an open issue to correct this or if they plan to address it at all? Quite inconvenient to mistakenly click in your tree and have the whole editor throw a bit fit.

I can't seem to find an answer yet, but maybe I'm missing something

Hi feel free to open issue or write a pull. I didn't write a pull because I'm not that familiar with atom source code. Also there might be some binary viewer plugins so they would then need to overrdide this override :-)
