Control Characters (LF, CR) still need to shown in editor

There already exists tikets about the same problem: #16003 and #12760. As these tickets are already locked then I can't comments there. But I need that feature (showing of LF and CR) because I do not use status bar (in opposite to suggestion in #16003). I use that feature in atom editor for a long time so for me it is important to have highlighting exactly in line instead of in status bar.

Yes, my issue is really covered, but in another issue - in this one #12223. So I am closing current one.
