zerocopy v0.8 includes a number of breaking changes. Given our heavy usage across the codebase, taking this update will require some effort.

I would love to see a follow-up PR after the initial version bump which leverages the new Dynamically Sized Type support to improve a variety of parsers we currently have in-tree.
