Additional mouse utilities #30404
Comments
I should add - I would like to see this imaginary unicorn of a rectangle remain on screen until an action is taken, whether it is another click of the mouse, or pressing escape, or another key, or any key ("Where's the any key?" ~ Homer Simpson) |
There is an awesome tool by SysInternals called ZoomIt which does just this. There is an issue open here to bring that into PowerToys. /dup #149 |

Description of the new feature / enhancement
I would love to see a mouse utility where one could draw a rectangle around something on their screen. It could be either the outline of a rectangle with a blank fill or a solid semi-transparent colored rectangle.
Scenario when this would be used?
When sharing a screen during an online meeting on Teams, Zoom, etc., I often want to draw attention to a particular section of the screen. Whether to highlight text, to show a button in SharePoint, to point out something on a webpage, or to show where to find something in VisionDSM, which is the software I use in the program I work on.
