in pubmed_lookup line 159:

url = 'http://eutils.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/eutils/'
'efetch.fcgi?db=pubmed&rettype=abstract&id={}'
.format(self.pmid)

must contain another parameter: &retmode=xml

Pull request for that: #9

otherwise xml cannot be parsed.
