Today, I tried to reconfigure the LMG source. The task was, replace the measurement of the system bakha with the new system conway.

Steps I did:

  1. Go to Source Overview
  2. Find respective source
  3. Click on Edit Source Config
  4. Click on the gear in the respective row
  5. Changed the name of the channel to convay
  • First issue, current_range parses input as an integer, but the value is of type float
  1. Clicked on Update Channel
  • Second issue, in my mind, the task is done, but nope. No reconfig issued yet. Also, there was no feedback for further progress.

What I had to do now:

  1. Go manually into Available Metrics
  2. Make no changes
  3. Click on Configure metrics
  4. Now I'm back on track to add the metric to a database

I ran into the same issue again, but this time the workaround didn't work either. I tried to change one measurement channel of the LMG450A to a new name. While the wizard showed the new name and I clicked everywhere that looked like an update configuration button, it even did send the reconfigure at some point, alas the changed configuration wasn't stored in the CouchDB. I ended up doing it manually in the CouchDB :(
