Stumbl (Front End)

Stumble Front End application built in Vue.js by Skookum Denver.

Mission

Stumbl is a simple Progressive Single Page Web Application to be used by attendees of Denver Startup Week to improve information discovery, increase attendee engagement, and increase visibility for sponsors. Stumbl will allow users to view venue and session information. It will also allow venues to manage the information presented to users about their business, giving them further control over their image.

2017 Version

Intention

To build strong relationships with each other by working together to learn new technologies and methods of software project development, expand our technical knowledge, and ultimately deliver a product to real users with the intention of maximizing their engagement with Denver Startup Week.

Team Objectives

  • πŸ“ Document code heavily to educate the next developer
  • πŸ€” Try to work on unfamiliar technology to learn new tech
  • πŸ•΅οΈβ€ Help teammates discover solutions - don't just solve for them if you know it
  • πŸ›  Resist tools like scaffolding CLIs and prebuilt solutions. Handroll components when possible to learn the technology under the hood.
  • πŸ‘―β€ Work together with every member of the team at some point
  • πŸŽ‰ Celebrate each other's successes, and have fun!

Working Values

  • πŸ—£ Overcommunicate - This project will present unique challenges as it is not our primary responsibility as Skookum employees. We need to communicate heavily to compensate, so we can catch problems early.
  • 🀝 Team Ownership - We succeed as a team, and we fail as a team. As long as everyone is doing their best to succeed, no point of failure can be blamed on a single person. Failure should be celebrated and learned from.
  • πŸ™Œ Hands in the Air - This is new technology for every member of the team, so if you run into trouble, raise your hand and work together with someone to resolve it. Always ask for help, early and often.

Task Management

We use Github Project Boards to track our tasks. We will develop and groom these work items as a team each meeting.
