Merit 0.3.0
I am pleased to announce that Merit 0.3.0. Merit is now an invite-only for the next 6 months and an invite is required to be able to use an address for transactions. This restriction is to allow the Merit network to have a controlled growth in users, secure the network, and further provide a sufficient time for users to acquire the desired alias should they choose to. The invites are distributed completely randomly and any address pre-daedalus is automatically invited. Merit 0.3.0 also brings a working Desktop Wallet which will be improved in further point releases. The summary of features are.
- Invite-Only.
- Distributed Invite Generation System.
- Addresses can have globally unique Aliases.
- Desktop Wallet.
- Prebuilt Binaries.
- Improved Networking.
- Miscellaneous Bug Fixes.
The invite-only will go into effect on block 49000.
