Device goes to idle state when we wait 5 minutes after connecting the serial cable

i am using this serialport sdk for sending and reading data from device it works fine when we send the command immediately after connecting the cable but wait few minutes after connecting the cable when we send the command device won't respond it went into idle state how to overcome this. we can enable DTS bit to awake the device but we don't have that property for this sdk
