Right now affiliations are about 70% accurate for astro-ph papers and probably a lot worse for other arxiv lists like cs and math. worldarxiv will 'gracefully' fail when it can't find an affiliation by putting a paper in the middle of the atlantic ocean and I make sure there's a big disclaimer on the about page that warns people from taking the affiliation data too seriously.
BUT there are still things we can do to improve the situation to ideally 100% accuracy.
use ORC-IDs
hook up to field-specific databases
ADS is great for astro authors but I don't know what the equivalent is for other fields!
