A way to remove the need for external librarries is to follow:

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/17590525/correct-way-to-statically-link-in-gfortran-libraries-on-osx

i.e. compile then link separately with correct flags.

cif2hkl on Mac OS needs updated rpath and headermax_stufff.... McCode#668

for a static cif2hkl.
May also be used for e.g. looktxt and spinwave.
