Currently the support for additional files are kinda bad. The best solution would be to add the option to add custom files to the project and then edit them as all other files. This would be useful if you want to add randomized textures for example.

This would be amazing, its the only reason i don't currently make block model oriented resource packs with your program! it would make my life a hell of a lot more productive when/if you add this! - also, any plans for adding a help section for json oriented stuff. I find myself looking up on the wiki for the information about tags and such? (Specifically for block states, i always derp and make simple mistakes XD) it would be nice if it was all in one place.

A help system does already exist in rpw. If there's something you think is missing there a pr would be helpful. Just sending the text would work as well as I don't know more exactly what should be added to the help section.

Perhaps a json section. A lot of things are available on the wiki, but having a json section in the help section would be handy, especially for people who want to dabble into block models.

Ok. Could you write a section? I don't have much time for rpw atm.

Not sure if i have all the knowledge to be honest, i'm pretty new to resource pack creation. But there is a wiki with all the tags. For now you could redirect them there.
