would be super nice to be able launch these with a simple R command.

not quite sure how to read this: https://github.blog/2019-08-08-github-actions-now-supports-ci-cd/#whats-next-for-actions

might mean that you can simply point github actions to your own cloud provider, but not actually use it locally. Not sure. Will see.
