Warning Legacy Material Theme will be removed by the end 2024. You'll not be able to download and install it. Please migrate to the official version. Legacy theme deprecationMany of you may still want to use the legacy version of Material Theme (previously called Community Material Theme) for Visual Studio Code, released back in 2016. Starting from December 2023 the official legacy version is no longer available on the marketplace. Any version of the legacy theme you will find on the marketplace is not the official one, may contain malicious code, and is probably violating the license What you're missingThe last official Material Theme includes years of updates and improvements compared to the old legacy version. Over the years, Visual Studio Code has got important features like semantic highlighting and improved syntax scopes. Since the legacy version of the theme is a snapshot of the theme from 2016, and hasn't been updated since then, it doesn't work with these features. By using it you're missing more precise code highlights and recognition, more colors, and some features built-in with the official theme. |
