First time I installed this, I got it to work.
Now when I right click the icon, it does not pop up with the menu to select chromecast or google home...
Only worked once, then never allowed that menu to pop up again.

I have reinstalled and reset PC, and have updated PC.

Is there a way to run this without needing to right click the icon to select my chromecast...
Maybe a windows form popup menu instead

I've got the same thing, though I was never successful.

Same issue here, just installed on a Win10 machine with a newer version of the Visual C++ package. Never got it to work once though, upon executing the app the tray icon shows up and just sits there looking pretty.

Same.

Windows 10. Build 1809.
Ran it for the first time. I see system tray icon but click/right-click does not do anything.
If I run the exe from command line, I see log messages

"C:\Program Files\audio-cast-win32-ia32\resources\bin\driver\win32\RegSvrEx.exe" /c "C:\Program Files\audio-cast-win32-ia32\resources\bin\driver\win32\audio_sniffer.dll"

And.. that's it.

Windows VC redistributable was already installed; I "repaired" it anyway. I followed instructions to register/unregister DLLs after dropping the 64 bit dll, but made no difference.
