You are being heaped with responsibilities and pressure right now because powerful people have recognized your gifts and are giving you an opportunity to use them. You've been asked to take on this high-level government project at this point in your life precisely because your cognitive capacities for moral reasoning will not reach maturity until you're between the ages of 28 and 32.
Einstein once said "It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer"
Too often in history the intelligent idealists like Einstein have had their insecurities and desires for approval exploited by the deeply wounded but powerful in order to fulfill their agenda of power over others, and that's why we live with the threat of nuclear war today.
What you do at this juncture will either be perceived as heroic or infamous, because what you do will inevitably harm others - but you, if you take after Einstein, and stay with the problems longer, particularly the moral implications of the solutions you set out to solve, may find yourself absolved of lifelong regrets by the time you reach cognitive maturity or you may find yourself oppressed for years by the misguided mental models of morality with which you acted on in our youth.
However, if you document your process thoroughly and make transparent the intent and method of the solutions you create with the meticulousness of a scientist, others may understand the genius behind it. Your ability to "educate upwards," or to have your heart's truth heard by those with authority over you may be the most critical capacity you have right now. Listen to the subtle intuitions you have while you undertake this project, simple lines of code can have huge consequences when they modify the core of a country. Learn to articulate those intuitions kindly to those who dictate your career trajectory. Record as much as you can despite the pace at which life is roaring by, in the future you will want to remember what transpired, and your records will be the lifeline to recall this fast moving time.

The one essential truth I can offer you to guide you in implementing the above is this one truth iterated across all faiths:
Tat Tvam Asi
Thou Art That
As Within So Without
As Above So Below
There are no separate others, there is only one infinite inter-being.
