Wondering if re-using prepared statements when loading metadata after connect to remote database would speed things up a bit? For example, when looping over 400+ remote tables using Relation::loadProperties() each time new statement is prepared and extra round trips are made. Can't prepared statement be reused? It is now pretty slow to connect to larger remote databases.
