Obsolete Notice: Magda Default Region files S3 Bucket magda-files will be obsolete after 1st July 2024

For the purpose of infrastructure consolidation, the Magda Default Region files S3 Bucket magda-files will be obsolete after 1st July 2024.

We currently use the bucket to serve default region files that describe the region boundaries and are used by indexer to create region index on the initial deployment. Unless you manually delete your region index, you won't need those files for your existing deployments.

However, as the s3 bucket URL is part of the default config, you will need to upgrade to Magda v4.0.1 or later to use the new region files release URLs for new deployments.

The content of those region files aree released from a new repo: https://github.com/magda-io/magda-regions/releases

The Magda version v4.0.1 also allow you need supply your own region files via helm chart config.
