The plugin works well when users edit whole pages. They need to check "Minor change" or to add something into the "Edit summary" field in order for the "save" button to become available.
However, when editing sections only (not the whole page), the "Edit summary" field is automatically populated with the header of the section. The "save" button is thus immediately available and no action (at the level of "Edit summary") from the user is required to save changes.
This makes the plugin pretty useless for wikis containing mainly long pages that are only seldom edited as a whole.

What would you suggest? Keep the button disabled as long as the user changes something or remove the header?

Hi Lupo,

in my opinion the by default given section header as edit summary is rather useless. Therefore it would be better if the plugin would delete this and force the user to give a significant comment instead.

I think the same as Juergen-aus-Koeln...

Thanks for the great plugin!

But indeed this issue is a killer for me. On my wiki all the pages are quite long, so people always use the "Section Editing" feature and I never get a meaningful summary, which is important for my company.
I second Juergen-aus-Koeln and asheenlevrai that completely disabling this automatic default summary would be perfect (Section editions would start empty just as the normal ones).
I don't know much PHP, but I have the impression that it would be easy to simply strip this "section titling" feature from Dokuwiki. Anyone knows where I should look?

Best,
Augusto
